Stuff

What I Hadn't Noticed
They were all around me. Stuff I'd collected throughout the years so I would remember a specific incident or concept that touched my heart and changed my life. Items that stay with me through every move, even when I downsizing.
We all collect things, as indicated by photo albums, scrap booking, souvenir buying, journals and diaries [ ]. The important ones endure throughout our life changes. They are the things we consider to be irreplaceable-the ones we grab as we evacuate when a forest fire threatens.
As important as they are, we tend to not notice them for they have become commonplace in our lives. At least, that's what I have done. I dust them regularly but don't really think about why I have them until... someone mentions one of them.
That pleases me for each one has a story I am eager to share. Each one teaches a lesson I learned and want to pass on. It is then I remember why they are important, why I kept them all these years and why I decided to write about each one:

Pogo, 1959
Dandelion
Silver Boxes
Snow Angel
Crystal Frog
Apples and Bees
Trees of Life
The Consultation

May each story touch your heart

Glass Half Full

Due to circumstances related to health issues, my writing has been sporadic.

However, I now have an incentive: Through Jerry Jenkins Writers Guild I have just joined a group of 5-6. We will help each other, encourage one another, hold one another accountable and do critiques.

We're just setting up a system that will work for various time zones.

One is 37; I think I'm the oldest... we're still getting to know one another. But the mix seems good: 2 men and 4 ladies. Mostly non-fiction writers.

The Guild also provides teaching and resources for success.

My glass is half full and I'm not giving up.

Erma Bombeck said it well: "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, 'I used everything you gave me.'"

A Forgetful People has new hope of being written and I'll be sharing it with you. Be one of the first to receive a copy by subscribing now.

With renewed excitement I'm winding up and will keep you posted.

Thanks-Living

Lord, You bless me in many ways.

When we give thanks, we bless ourselves & others,
but when we're thanks-living, we bless God.

I am going through my blessing bowl to remind myself of people & events that have blessed my heart this year.

At the same time, I am expressing my heartfelt gratitude to God as I read each one. And I am asking Him to open our eyes to see unknown blessings He provides, as well.

Let us focus on our Lord, the lover of our souls, as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day.
